The Essence of Babylon – From Man, Through Man And To Man
In Genesis 11:4 we read that the people of the world decided to build a tower. They said to each other, “Come, let us build for ourselves a city and a tower whose top would reach to heaven.” They wanted their tower to be the gate of God (Babel). Human effort to reach God is a major constituent of false religion. False religion is always a religion of works – and not one of faith and dependence on God. Continue Reading →
A person who does not know God is like a lost person who does not know the reason of his existence at a given place on a given time. He just keeps living life as it comes. Majority of people in this lost world lives without knowing the light and do all sort of things without knowing the consequences.
Another group of people who exist in this world, are those, who truly believe in the existence of God but do not know who he is, they seek him. All religions in this world came into existence, because of this very reason. However, such people do what is right in their own sight. This same thing happened in the Old Testament times also. For last couple of weeks, we are charged up with so many exciting things happening. Brother Anilkant from Mumbai visited us for a worship event – YESHU BHAKTI SANDHYA. Lovely man of God with humility and joy of the Lord in him and anointed with awesome gift of engaging people in worship using his music and singing talent. This was a time of learning and sheer excitement as we worshipped our Lord in joy with dancing and singing.
As he left, pastor uncle (Peter Kuruvilla) joined us and the blessings have continued to flow. We heard his testimony of coming in faith from Catholic background and then how God has trained him for his service during his youth through his submission and suffering. This was an encouragement to our young lives.
However, One thing what God was talking through both of them was – Make God your Lord in every way! Continue Reading →
Continue Reading →

Praise be to our Lord Jesus Christ!
I am glad that you are reading this page. May God bless you as you read on, I have prayed for you. I am joyful that you wish to know more about me, but I will tell you, what God has done for me.
I belong to a Marathi hindu family. I was the first person in my family who was saved. In the month of May in 1998, I set myself on fire due to some personal/emotional reasons (and compelled by some unknown black-magic power). Though I came to realization soon and tried to save myself, yet I was half burnt. I was actually almost dead (100%), but our neighbor (building-mate), who was a believer, prayed for me along with her church members for my life. And I survived. Soon after their prayers, I opened my eyes – I was alive. But we did not believe in Jesus. Continue Reading →
I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
On December 14, 2005, I was diagnosed with the breast cancer (third level). The news came as a complete surprise and caught me totally unprepared. It was definitely the worst day of my life but what made it even worse was that I was quite well informed about cancer and therefore had some idea of what to expect. I had mixed emotions; but the thought that immediately crossed my mind was “what have I done to deserve this.” However, when I look back at the events of the last eight or so months, I now understand that GOD wanted to develop His character in my life and to know He loves me. And what about other traditions? Can we not respect our elders by touching their feet?
This is again a subjective question and above principle can explain this. However, to answer it specifically, I would recommend that we must ask wisdom from God to differentiate between culture and religious rituals. In general, you may touch the feet of elders, but we ought to understand that it is ensured that we would not compromise with the glory of God in anyway. Continue Reading →
What about marriage and other ceremonies? Our rest of the families are yet following old religious traditions? So are we supposed to oppose them?
This is another subjective question in this series. I must admit, you have to take your own decision and deal with it based on the leading of the Holy Spirit of God.
You will find people on both extremes – those who totally revolt and go against their families and relatives and eventually loose the opportunity to share the gospel forever or those who totally surrender themselves to idol worship and other customs and do not give any glory to true and living God. In both the cases, probably they have not understood the spirit of the Word of God but the letter. Continue Reading →
